  • From Fitness Equipment to Medical Devices: CNC Machining Behind Wellness
In the world of wellness, technology and precision are becoming just as important as motivation and lifestyle. Whether it's the structure of a home fitness machine or the casing of a wearable health tracker, CNC machining plays a silent but vital role behind the scenes. At its core, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining allows manufacturers to create highly accurate, repeatable parts from a variety of materials—metals, plastics, and composites. This level of precision is not just nice to have in the wellness industry; it's essential. Think about components inside a portable ECG device, or the ergonomic design of a smart resistance trainer. If even one measurement is off, the device may not function properly or could even pose a safety risk to the user. For OEMs and health-tech startups alike, partnering with a reliable CNC machining service provider ensures tight tolerances and consistent part quality, whether it’s for a batch of 50 or 5,000 pieces. Wellness Begins With Reliability In wellness-focused products, especially those used for health tracking or rehabilitation, the margin for error is incredibly small. Precision CNC machining is the preferred process when accuracy, surface finish, and material integrity must be guaranteed. At Jeeklead, we’ve worked on various projects involving custom CNC components for rehabilitation devices, massage tools, and even parts for therapeutic medical beds. CNC milling and turning techniques are commonly used to achieve the complex geometries needed for such applications, especially when combining plastic housings with stainless steel inner mechanisms. Applications like wearable fitness tech and smart rehabilitation tools benefit from small-batch CNC production, allowing rapid prototyping and iterative design without the cost of injection molding. Materials That Make a Difference When designing parts for wellness-related products, material choice matters just as much as geometry. Titanium is often used in medical applications for its strength-to-weight ratio and biocompatibility. Aluminum and engineering plastics are popular for their balance between strength, corrosion resistance, and weight—critical for portable devices or anything worn on the body. CNC aluminum machining is widely used for health-tracking devices due to its light weight and excellent thermal performance. For more rugged applications, such as outdoor fitness equipment, CNC-machined stainless steel components are preferred for their durability and resistance to corrosion. Our facility supports a wide range of materials and finishing options, making us a flexible partner for CNC medical parts manufacturing and wellness product prototyping. Precision Meets Lifestyle It’s easy to overlook the engineering behind something as simple as a fitness tracker or a physical therapy brace. But behind every well-designed health product is a chain of skilled people and precise processes—CNC machining being one of the most reliable among them. As the health and wellness sector continues to evolve, more companies are focusing not just on how their products look and function, but also how they support a broader sense of well-being. Organizations like Wellness Group are part of this growing shift—bringing together innovation, lifestyle, and health-centered values. At Jeeklead, we’re proud to support this vision by delivering CNC precision parts that help wellness products work better, last longer, and serve people more effectively.

  • CNC Programming Language - G Code and M Code
CNC Programming Language - G Code and M Code   In the world of CNC machine tools, G code and M code are like a pair of tacit partners. They control every movement and operation of the machine tool together and are also the core parts of the machine tool. This article will explain what G code is and what M code is. Why they are called the key to CNC machine.   G code: The full name is "preparation function code". The main function is to specify the movement trajectory and processing method of the machine tool. For example, the G00 code is for rapid positioning. The machine tool will move to the specified coordinate position at the fastest speed. It is often used to quickly approach the workpiece or quickly adjust the tool position; the G01 code represents linear interpolation. The machine tool will move in a straight line at a given speed and path to cut a straight line contour; G02 represents clockwise circular interpolation, and G03 is counterclockwise circular interpolation. These two codes allow the machine tool to accurately process various arc shapes. There are also G28 for returning to the reference point, G30 for returning to the second reference point, etc. These G codes are like instruction sets for machine tool movement, providing a basis for various complex processing techniques.   M code is a kind of auxiliary function code, which controls some auxiliary actions and status of the machine. For example, M03 indicates the forward rotation of the spindle, which makes the spindle of the machine tool rotate at the speed set by the worker. M04 is used for the reverse rotation of the spindle. there are many auxiliary codes.   There are many lists of G codes and M codes, each with parameters and functions. The code consists of numbers and letters, which are input into the machine tool through programming software, and then the machine tool performs corresponding actions according to the received code instructions. Of course, if it is a machine model of different brands, there may be a little difference, but the overall situation remains unchanged. Some functions are mentioned in the introduction above. Next is the full function of G code and M code, which can be checked. G code full list and function G00: Rapid positioning, rapid movement to the specified position. G01: Linear interpolation, linear cutting. G02: Clockwise circular interpolation. G03: Counterclockwise circular interpolation. G04: Pause. ‌G17‌: Select XY plane. ‌G18‌: Select XZ plane. ‌G19‌: Select YZ plane. ‌G20‌: Select English units. ‌G21‌: Select metric units. ‌G28‌: Return to reference point. ‌G30‌: Return from reference point. ‌G33‌: Thread cutting. ‌G40‌: Cancel tool radius compensation. ‌G41‌: Tool radius left compensation. ‌G42‌: Tool radius right compensation. ‌G43‌: Tool length positive compensation. ‌G50‌: Set workpiece coordinate system. ‌G90‌: Absolute programming. ‌G91‌: Incremental programming‌   M code list and functions ‌M03‌: Spindle forward rotation. ‌M04‌: Spindle reverse rotation. ‌M05‌: Spindle stop. ‌M06‌: Tool change. ‌M08‌: Coolant on. ‌M09‌: Coolant off. ‌M30‌: Program end and rework. ‌M98‌: Subroutine call.   How to read and write G & M code programs   G & M code programs usually consist of a series of instructions, each on a line. Instructions start with a letter, followed by one or more parameters. For example, G01 means linear interpolation, and X100.0 Y200.0 means move to coordinates (100.0, 200.0) on the X and Y axes. Being familiar with the code format is the basis for reading and writing programs. This part is to understand.   Then learn the commonly used codes and their functions. Commonly used code functions can help you quickly understand and write programs.   Generally speaking, G & M code programs usually consist of multiple program segments, each of which performs a specific operation. Understand the function and role of each program segment. Comments can be used to help understand the structure and function of the program. Comments start with a semicolon (;) and are followed by the comment content.   Write the G & M code program according to the processing requirements and machine tool specifications. Finally, debug it, which can be debugged by simulating the processing. If errors are found, they should be corrected in time.   Finally, add a few points to note   Coordinate system: When using the G90 command, since G90 is absolute programming, all coordinates are relative to the program origin, commonly known as (absolute position). G91 is incremental programming, and its coordinates are calculated relative to the offset of the current position.   Tool: If the tool is in radius compensation, G41 and G42 can be used for compensation. G41 is (left tool) and G42 is (right tool).   Unit setting: The unit setting cannot be wrong. G20 and G21 are set correctly to avoid errors.   Coolant: M8 and M9 are used to control the coolant switch.   With the continuous development of CNC technology, G code and M code are also constantly updated and improved. New G code and M code functions continue to emerge, providing more possibilities for machine tool processing. For example, some advanced G code functions can realize the processing of complex surfaces and improve processing efficiency and precision; M code can also be used to control more auxiliary equipment, such as automatic tool change system, online measurement system, etc. The above is a basic explanation of G code and M code.   This article describes the application of G code and M code in CNC programming. G code and M code play a vital role in CNC machine tools. Jeek is a leading manufacturing company in China. The company has three-axis, four-axis and five-axis. • The role of annealing process in improving material properties
The role of annealing process in improving material properties   Annealing, as an important heat treatment technology, is widely used in the field of material processing. It optimizes the internal structure of the material and improves its physical and mechanical properties through specific temperature control methods. This article will comprehensively analyze the core points of the annealing process from the aspects of definition, process steps, application fields and common problems.   What is annealing? The definition and basic principles of annealing   Annealing is a heat treatment method that regulates the properties of materials by heating and cooling. Its core is to use temperature changes to change the microstructure of the material and optimize its performance. Specifically, the annealing process involves heating the metal or alloy to a specific temperature range, keeping it for a period of time and then slowly cooling it. This process can reduce the hardness of the material while improving its ductility and toughness, making it more suitable for subsequent processing.   From a scientific point of view, the main function of annealing is to eliminate residual stress inside the material, refine the grain structure, and improve the overall performance of the material. Whether it is metal, alloy or other materials, annealing can significantly improve its processing performance and service life. The core steps of the annealing process   The annealing process is usually divided into three stages: heating, insulation and cooling. Each stage has an important impact on the performance of the final material. Let's take a closer look.   Heating stage The material is heated to a predetermined temperature, during which atomic activity intensifies and the crystal structure begins to change. Heating helps release residual stress inside the material and creates conditions for subsequent organizational structure adjustment.   Insulation stage After reaching the target temperature, the material needs to be kept at a constant temperature for a period of time. The length of the insulation time depends on the type, thickness and heating temperature of the material. The main purpose of this stage is to allow the internal organizational structure of the material to fully adjust to achieve optimal performance.   Cooling stage The cooling process needs to be carried out slowly to avoid new stress or cracks in the material. The appropriate cooling rate can ensure that the material obtains a uniform organizational structure, thereby improving its overall performance.   Industry application of annealing process Annealing process plays an important role in many industries. The following are several typical application areas:   Mechanical manufacturing In mechanical manufacturing, annealing is often used to eliminate internal stress generated during forging or welding, thereby improving the dimensional stability and deformation resistance of parts.   Electronics Industry In the manufacture of electronic components, annealing can improve the crystal quality of silicon wafers and enhance their electrical performance. In addition, the performance of components such as resistors and capacitors is also optimized through annealing.   Aerospace The aerospace field has extremely high requirements for material performance. The annealing process is used to treat high-temperature alloys to ensure their strength and oxidation resistance under extreme conditions.   Automotive Manufacturing Automotive engine parts (such as cylinder blocks and cylinder heads) can be significantly improved in hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance through annealing.   Jewelry Processing After annealing, precious metal products are softer and easier to process and shape, while also improving their appearance and gloss.   Common problems and solutions in the annealing process Although the annealing process has many advantages, some problems may also occur in actual operation. Here are some common defects and their solutions:   Oxidation problems The metal surface may react with oxygen during the annealing process to form an oxide layer. Solutions include using a protective atmosphere (such as nitrogen or hydrogen) or applying a protective layer on the surface of the material.   Decarburization Decarburization will cause the carbon content on the surface of the material to decrease, which will affect its hardness and strength. Decarburization can be effectively reduced by controlling the annealing temperature and using a vacuum annealing process.   Excessive grain growth Excessive grain growth will reduce the mechanical properties of the material. Adding grain refiners (such as titanium or niobium) can inhibit grain growth and maintain the excellent properties of the material.   Residual stress Uneven heating or cooling may cause residual stress inside the material. This problem can be effectively alleviated by optimizing the heating and cooling process or using multiple annealing treatments.   Summary Annealing process plays an irreplaceable role in material processing. By reasonably controlling process parameters, the performance of the material can be significantly improved to meet the application needs of different industries. • Differences between metal stamping and metal punching
There is a little difference between metal stamping and metal punching. One is to drill and cut the required shape, and the other is to bend, shape, and stretch it into different shapes. Although both involve cutting, the tools, methods, and processes used are different. Let's take a look at these two confusing metal processing methods.   Concepts between metal stamping and metal punching Metal stamping, as the name suggests, is mainly a stamping process for metal materials. Because its metal has high strength and hardness, metal stamping requires specific equipment and technology for processing. During stamping, the metal material is pressed by the stamping die to shape it to obtain the required material and size.   In automobile manufacturing, metal materials are processed by stamping to obtain a strong and stable structure. Metal stamping can produce various metal parts, such as auto parts, equipment housings, tools, etc. All processed under metal stamping, the products produced are high precision and good quality.   Ordinary stamping is a broader concept and is closely related to our lives. For simple stamping, the stamping die is used to separate or deform the material. For metal materials, metal stamping is an important form of stamping; for stamping of non-metallic materials, such as plastics, stamping can be squeezed into a specific shape through the die, such as plastic bottle caps, plastic tableware, etc. The basic principle of stamping is to use the shape and force of the die to make the material plastically deform or separate in the die to obtain the required product.   Metal punching, in simple terms, is to use professional punching equipment to drill holes of various shapes on metal materials. This process is very similar to engraving on the metal surface. The punching equipment is equipped with high-strength punches and dies. The punch strikes the metal sheet downward at high speed, and the die limits the shape and size of the hole. Under the strong impact force, the metal sheet is instantly deformed, and the hole is perfectly made.   Comparison and application of metal stamping and metal punching process   Metal stamping Die: stamping template, copying various complex shapes. Press: The machine presses the die down so that the die and the metal plate are tightly combined and formed. Shearing: The metal sheet is cut into the desired shape. Stretching: By applying force, the metal sheet is stretched into the desired shape. Punching: Cutting part of the metal sheet and removing the unnecessary part. Bending: Bend the metal sheet into a specific angle. Precision forming: High-precision parts that meet the product.   Metal punching Aperture: The size of the hole after punching. Penetration: The force of the die to penetrate the metal. Die design: Design the punching die into the desired structure. Surface quality: The flatness and smoothness of the metal surface. Metal sheet: The metal material used for punching (aluminum, steel). Production efficiency: The number of holes processed per unit time. The process range of the two is actually similar. Punching is a type of stamping process, mainly used for drilling holes, etc., while stamping covers a wider range. Stamping includes the punching process. Punching is only a part of stamping, but it is also a way of processing alone.   When to use metal punching?   When metal needs to be punched or cut.   When in mass production.   Suitable when the budget is limited.   When to use metal stamping?   Complex metal parts, shearing, stretching, bending and other reasons.   Requires higher precision.   A large number of parts, especially in the automotive and aerospace fields.   If you need metal punching or metal stamping, please click on our email, send your requirements or PDF, we will reply and quote in time!

  • Sheet Metal Stamping vs CNC Machining
In the modern manufacturing industry, sheet metal stamping and CNC machining of these two processes are very widely used, both of which are used to produce precision parts, but the operation of these two processes, the scope of application, as well as technology is not the same, sheet metal processing is mainly through the stamping, bending or laser cutting of products. And cnc processing is the use of computer technology to control machine tools for cutting, milling, drilling and other ways. So today jeek for you to introduce the difference between the two it.   Sheet metal stamping and CNC machining of the basic concept of analysis Sheet metal stamping is the use of stamping molds, metal processing process, the basic principle is that the equipment applies pressure to it, so that the metal is bent, shaped in the mold. So that it obtains the corresponding parts, then it can also be said that if the mold is set up well, then its productivity will be high, so as to carry out mass production.   Of course, the design and manufacture of the mold will affect the quality and productivity of the stamped parts, so a set of high-quality molds should have high precision, high hardness, good abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance and other characteristics. Stamping equipment is also very important, different stamping parts require different specifications and types of stamping equipment. Therefore, it can only produce large quantities of metal products with simple shapes and large sizes, such as automobile body shells.   CNC machining is to process the workpiece with the help of CNC equipment, and it can be said that CNC equipment is the greatest product of manufacturing in the twentieth century. It is through the preparation of CNC programs to control the movement of the machine tool, especially in the five-axis, can be said to be no matter how complex the workpiece, in the preparation of complex programs, can be accurately processed out of any desired shape and size.   General aerospace, most of the automotive parts require a high degree of precision, and the shape of the part is also very complex, which can only be processed with CNC machining, in small quantities, multiple varieties, complex parts, CNC machining has an absolute advantage.   Why sheet metal stamping and CNC machining is the core technology of the modern manufacturing industry, its advantages and fields In the vast field of modern manufacturing, sheet metal stamping and CNC machining is like two bright pearls, glittering, and become the core technology to promote the continuous development of manufacturing.   Sheet metal stamping technology is known for its high efficiency, precision and mass production capability. Through the role of stamping dies, sheet metal is quickly and accurately processed into parts of various shapes and sizes. This type of processing enables one-time molding of complex shapes, which greatly improves production efficiency and saves a lot of time and labor costs. Most of the structural parts of automobiles are stamped through sheet metal, such as: doors, roofs, body side panels and so on.   CNC machining is to automation and flexibility and occupy an important position in modern manufacturing. Workers with the help of computer numerical control system, machine tools in accordance with the prearranged program automatically for processing, which contains most of the milling, drilling, etc., CNC machining can achieve more complex processing pattern and processing accuracy. Generally manufacturing aerospace core parts and satellite parts.   Sheet metal stamping common problems and solutions   Material Deformation Problem Performance: During the stamping process, the material may be deformed locally or as a whole, affecting the dimensional accuracy and shape precision of the part. Problem Solution: Optimize the stamping process parameters, such as stamping speed, punching pressure, die clearance, etc., to avoid excessive impact force leading to material deformation, and then choose to select materials with good plasticity and toughness. If possible, it is recommended to strengthen the design and manufacturing precision of the mold, so that there is a certain gap in the middle to reduce the friction and stress concentration of the material in the stamping process.   Dimensional deviation Problem Performance: The size of the stamped part deviates from the designed size. Problem Solution: Maintain the stamping equipment, use accurate molds and improve the size of the molds. If the deviation occurs during the stamping process, timely adjustment is sufficient.   Cracks and ruptures Problem: Sudden breakage of the material in the stamping mold. Problem Solution: Solve the quality of the material, change the high quality material, or heat treat the surface of the mold to improve the hardness and wear resistance of the mold.   CNC machining common problems and solutions Tool wear Problem performance: Due to the problem of time, the tool is gradually worn out during the machining process, which affects the quality of its machining. Problem solution: you can choose a good wear resistance and cutting performance of better tools, of course, can not be a long time to cut, the need for regular adherence to Oh.   Machining accuracy Problem performance: the machining accuracy does not meet the desired requirements. Problem solving: Use reasonable machining path and cutting parameters to reduce machining errors.   Surface quality problems Problem performance: the surface roughness of the parts does not meet the requirements, scratches, burrs and other problems. Problem Solution: Use cutting fluid to reduce the friction between the tool and the workpiece, and the cutting feed parameter is also slightly adjusted to reduce the roughness brought about by the problem.   Jeek provides a series of sheet metal stamping manufacturing process as well as cnc machining, you just need to click on the inquiry, send the size or upload your file to express your needs, we will contact and quote in time.

  • Climb Milling vs Conventional Milling
The history of milling technology can be traced back to the 1990s, as a method of machining, is an important cutting method in the manufacturing industry, processing a wide variety of different products, need its presence, the presence of milling and workpiece Their interactions, all of which can have a big impact. In today's article, let's illustrate the two ways of milling technology, Climb milling and conventional milling.   What is Climb Milling? Climb milling, in general terms, refers to the direction of rotation of the milling cutter and the direction of the workpiece feed is a direction of the cutting method, when the Climb milling, the cutting edge in the cut into the workpiece, the thickness of the cutting will gradually increase, to reach the maximum thickness of the cutting. After cutting out the workpiece, the cutting thickness gradually decreases from the maximum to zero.   In the process of Climb milling, the quality of the tool should be good, otherwise the quality will be poor, which will produce vertical downward milling force, the workpiece is easy to loosen.   Then from the efficiency of machining, the advantages of Climb milling are obvious, the milling cutter is gradually cut into the workpiece, the cutting force is relatively small and smooth, which can greatly slow down the vibration and shock range of the machine tool. This can make the workpiece more accurate.   The process of Climb milling   In Climb milling, the direction of rotation of the milling cutter is the same as the direction of feed of the workpiece.   Since there is no gear sliding in Climb milling, the surface quality of the machined surface is higher and there will be less wear between the tools.   In finishing, you can process the material with lighter hardening, so the result is better. If there is a gap between the screw and the nut, the workpiece may move, affecting the machining quality, so pay attention to it.   Advantages of Climb milling   Machining accuracy: the cutting edge and the workpiece feed direction is the same, will not produce large impact and vibration.   Tool life: the cutting force is relatively small in the same direction, which makes the tool last longer. The conventional milling is smoother and less likely to stick to the tool during large cutting.   Improved machining efficiency: the cutting process is smoother and less fluctuation.   Good quality of machining: the surface roughness of the workpiece is lower, and the surface quality is better. Parts in the aerospace field, parts of precision instruments, etc. are generally Climb milling.   In Climb milling we need to pay attention here, Climb milling is not suitable for all processing situations, for example, in some special processing occasions, there are hard-skinned workpieces, processing thin-walled parts is not suitable.   Disadvantages of Climb milling   Table tampering: If the cutting force is relatively large, then the table is very easy to produce tampering, which will affect the machining accuracy. If it is serious, the workpiece may be scrapped. The solution is to use a smaller feed, slightly reducing the machining efficiency.   Tool wear faster: tool in the cutting process by the friction is greater, especially when cutting steel and other high hardness materials, the solution to this method can be from replacing the frequency of cutting tools and reduce productivity to reduce wear, if you don't want to slow down the processing efficiency, can only increase the cost of processing.   Processing vibration: in the processing of thin-walled parts or slender parts, if this time suddenly produce vibration that may lead to deformation of the parts, or fracture. Can only use vibration-damping tools or workpieces to support. However, this will increase the cost and difficulty of machining!   Higher precision requirements for machine tools: lack of stability will be above a series of things happen, so the need for regular maintenance and maintenance Oh.   What is Conventional Milling   Above we said the milling, then we talk about conventional milling, conventional milling is a favored processing method, if the milling is the direction of rotation of the milling cutter and the workpiece feed direction is the same, then the conventional milling is the direction of rotation of the milling cutter and the workpiece feed direction is opposite.   If only from the principle, conventional milling still has some unique characteristics, such as in the process of conventional milling, milling cutter cutting thickness per tooth from zero gradually increased to the maximum value, and then gradually reduced to zero. This means that at the beginning of cutting, the tool and the workpiece is sliding friction, rather than cutting action, which will lead to a larger cutting force, easy to cause vibration and deformation of the workpiece. As the cutting thickness gradually increases, the cutting force will gradually decrease, when the cutting thickness reaches the maximum value, the cutting force is relatively stable.   Inverse milling has a lot of advantages, in the processing of surface roughness or hardened materials will become easier.   Advantages of Conventional Milling Better surface quality: In conventional milling, when the cutting edge of the tool cuts into the workpiece, the vertical component of the cutting force presses the workpiece to the table, and the clamping force between the workpiece and the table increases, reducing vibration and deformation of the workpiece.   Excellent durability: Since the cutting edge of the tool cuts into the workpiece from the machined surface when milling in the reverse direction, the wear of the cutting edge of the tool is relatively small. While the feed direction is reversed, the tool is also subjected to relatively low impact forces during the cutting process. Of course, increased tool durability means less frequent tool replacement, which reduces the time and cost of tool replacement.   Great advantages in terms of processing materials: difficult-to-machine materials are well suited to conventional milling, and the advantages of conventional milling will be even more obvious than forward milling when processing high-precision materials such as those used in aerospace, automotive manufacturing and other fields.   Disadvantages of Conventional Milling   The impact of conventional milling is large: as the tool cuts into the workpiece from the highest point on the surface of the workpiece and then gradually cuts in, this causes the cutting edge of the tool to be subjected to a large impact force at the moment of cutting. This impact will accelerate the wear of the tool and reduce the service life of the tool. It will affect the processing efficiency and reduce the production efficiency.   Chip removal does not work: when milling, the chips are discharged in the forward direction of the tool, which easily leads to the accumulation of chips between the tool and the workpiece, and when processing some materials with hard or sticky chips, the chips are easy to be entangled in the tool, and even block the chip chute, which further exacerbates the problem of difficult chip removal.   Surface roughness is larger: it will produce larger friction and extrusion, and the machined surface will leave more obvious tool marks and machining traces, resulting in larger roughness of the machined surface.   Although conventional milling has a lot of advantages, is the traditional industry commonly used cutting methods, but its shortcomings can not be ignored, for some of the machining accuracy, surface quality requirements of the workpiece, or in the processing of poor rigidity, prone to vibration of the workpiece, you should try to avoid the use of conventional milling, choose to go along with the milling and so on will be better.   Difference between Climb milling and Conventional Milling   Forward milling is the same direction of rotation and feed direction of the tool. conventional milling and Climb milling is the opposite, the rotation direction of the tool and the feed direction is opposite. The difference between the two is in the chips, cutting forces are different.   Climb milling is the rotation direction of the milling cutter is the same as the feeding direction of the workpiece. In the process of Climb milling, the cutting thickness of each tooth of the tool starts from the maximum and gradually decreases to zero. The advantages of this cutting method are more significant. When the tool cuts into the workpiece at the moment of Climb milling, the cutting force is perpendicular to the surface of the workpiece downward, which helps the workpiece clamping, reduces the vibration and displacement of the workpiece, and improves the machining accuracy and surface quality. As the cutting thickness is gradually reduced, the cutting load of the tool is relatively smooth, which is conducive to extending the service life of the tool. Shun milling in the processing of some of the harder materials, can better play the cutting performance of the tool, improve processing efficiency.   Conventional milling is the direction of rotation of the milling cutter and the workpiece feed direction is opposite. When conventional milling, the cutting thickness of each tooth of the tool starts from zero and gradually increases to the maximum. The main advantage of conventional milling over forward milling is that it avoids the impact of the cutter when it cuts. Because conventional milling is in the tool has been on the workpiece to apply a certain pressure before starting to cut, so there will be no impact phenomenon when the Climb milling, which is very favorable for the processing of some thin-walled parts or parts with high precision requirements. conventional milling can better control the cutting force and reduce the deformation of the workpiece when machining some tough materials.   Conclusion:   In the actual machining process, the choice of forward milling or conventional milling needs to be decided according to the specific machining situation. If the processing is a harder material, parts with higher precision requirements or the need to improve processing efficiency, usually choose forward milling; while if the processing is a thin-walled parts, tough materials or the need to avoid the impact of the tool when cutting, may choose conventional milling.   Of course, we have to choose the appropriate milling method when milling in the forward and conventional milling, such as whether you are pursuing the surface quality or precision, or the efficiency, the speed of production. Consider the function of its machine before processing!   About forward and conventional milling this article is introduced here, I hope the above knowledge can help you, if you need to customize bulk parts, welcome to contact us to get a timely quote.

  • Form Milling: Everything You Need To Know
Form Milling: Everything You Need To Know   We're a parts manufacturer, and if you've ever worked in manufacturing, you've probably heard of form milling. In the day-to-day machining of metal parts, each part is so complex that almost every fabricator has a milling machine on their shop floor, and the use of milling machines in fabrication is so high in popularity that you can't help but notice the popularity of them. In this article, you will join us to learn what milling is, the process, applications, working principle and its advantages and disadvantages or a comparison with other milling. Get to know the techniques of milling together!   What is Forming Milling? Definition and basic principles Forming Milling - A type of metal machining that uses a specially shaped milling cutter to machine complex contours. It is characterized by the ability to precisely replicate the shape of the cutter, and unlike traditional milling, you can understand it like this.   It's like making cookies in a mold: whereas normal milling is equivalent to cutting the shape a little bit with a knife, form milling is like pressing the target shape directly out of a mold.   It is suitable for complex shapes: gears, threads, turbine blades, etc., which do not need to be carved step-by-step, but are formed in a single pass with a specialized tool.   Forming milling is currently a very important field for batch machining, where the shape of each workpiece can be exactly the same. Compared to CNC layer-by-layer milling, form milling enables the machining of specific shapes much faster.   The core principle of form milling is to use a form milling cutter that matches the target contour, and through the rotary motion of the milling machine, the shape of the cutter is transferred directly to the workpiece, realizing high-precision contour machining.   The technical principle relies mainly on the specific shape of the forming milling cutter, which is transferred to the workpiece by the rotary + feed movement of the milling machine, to realize high-precision and highly repeatable contour machining. It is suitable for batch machining of complex workpieces such as gears, molds, turbine blades, etc., and is an important machining method in modern manufacturing.   Differences and Uses of Forming Milling and Conventional Milling   As mentioned above, by two simple molding movements. Forming milling is like trying to prepare a mold to directly press out a desired shape.   Traditional milling is generally used plane milling cutter or end mill for cutting, the movement of the tool and the cutting surface of the workpiece is usually parallel or have a certain angle, only suitable for processing flat or simple geometric shapes. It is not suitable for complex surface machining and is relatively single.   General traditional milling processing is a plane, slot, keyway, hole and other simple shape of the workpiece.   While molding milling processing gears, spiral contour, curved surfaces, etc., and mass production of the same product speed is very fast.   Advantages of Forming Milling Complex processing can be accomplished with a single cut, eliminating the need for multiple adjustments and improving work efficiency.   The shape of the tool is fixed at the beginning, so it is suitable for mass production of high-precision workpieces.   The surface finish is relatively high, and there is little need for subsequent reworking.   Compared to contour interpolation in CNC machining, form milling can directly use the contour of the tool for machining, reducing complex path calculations and program writing.   Disadvantages of Profile Milling   High tool cost, because it is necessary to use a specific shape of the tool, the tool manufacturing cost is high, and it is only applicable to the machining of specific workpieces.   Since the machining process wears out from time to time, thus changing the shape of the contour, it needs to be serviced regularly, otherwise the machining accuracy will be affected.   Forming tools require a high degree of precision in their design and manufacture, involving factors such as contour compensation, cutting angle, chip removal design, etc., and demand high competence from tool manufacturers.   The contact area of one cutting is relatively large, which will produce a large amount of chips, and the design of chip removal is also very important.   Application areas for form milling range from aerospace to automotive manufacturing.   Aerospace: machining of complex parts such as turbine blades, engine magazines, wing structures, etc., which require high precision and surface quality.   Mold manufacturing: injection molds, die-casting molds in the complex cavities and surfaces, forming milling can be a one-time completion of high-precision processing.   Automotive industry: engine block, crankshaft, transmission gears and other key components of the manufacturing, requires high precision and high efficiency of the processing process.   Energy field: gas turbine blades, complex parts in nuclear power equipment, also rely on form milling technology.   Common challenges and solutions for form milling Tool wear: one of the most common reasons for molding milling, mainly due to the poor quality of the material, or processing quality requirements of the high wear caused by the fast, we here suggest that the tool material is used in alloy steel and other materials, and then timely replacement of the tool Oh.   Workpiece deformation: this situation generally occurs in the cutting of large workpieces, if the area is very large this side of the proposal can be segmented for cutting, or directly smaller tool.   Cutting temperature is high: this is the friction of the contact surface with the workpiece heat, in our point of view can be sprayed coolant while cutting, the workpiece to slow down the progress.   The future development trend of molding and milling technology   With the progress of intelligent manufacturing and digital technology, forming milling is also upgrading.   Intelligent machining: real-time monitoring of the machining process through sensors and AI technology to optimize cutting parameters and improve machining efficiency and quality.   Additive Manufacturing Combination: Combine forming milling with 3D printing technology to realize rapid manufacturing of complex parts.   Green Manufacturing: Develop more environmentally friendly cutting fluids and tool coatings to reduce environmental pollution during machining.   Forming milling may sound like a niche technology, but it is the best solution for geometries that are difficult to achieve with traditional milling. By combining customized tooling with CNC precision, it is possible to deliver high-quality parts to demanding industries-despite higher costs and technical barriers. If you are interested in large CNC machining, or are considering applying it to your production process, here are some basics you need to know.   What is large CNC machining?   Large CNC machining refers to the process of machining using large CNC machine tools. These machine tools usually have large table sizes and processing capabilities, capable of handling large workpieces and complex machining tasks. Large CNC machining can be used to manufacture a variety of parts and products, such as aerospace parts, automotive parts, molds, heavy machinery parts, etc.   CDA operation steps in large CNC machining   Design CAD   During the design stage, CAD is used to create a 3D model of the part for design.   Use CAD files to create format codes   Since CAD cannot be recognized by CNC machines, the model needs to be converted into a format that the CNC machine can effectively interpret. So CAM software is needed. Then the CAD design is converted into operation codes that the CNC machine can execute. Programming   After the setting is completed, the CAD design is converted into an operation code that can be executed by the CNC machine tool for compatible mode (G code), generating tool paths, cutting parameters, and optimizing the processing path.   Workpieces and tools   When processing, choose the appropriate machine and tool for configuration operation. During this period, the complexity, cost, and material of the design should be considered, and it should be put into automatic processing after ensuring that it is correct.   In large-scale CNC processing, CAD is the starting point of the entire process, providing the initial design and geometric data of the parts. After the design is completed, the CAD file is converted into instructions for the CNC machine tool through CAM to form a complete processing flow. This process involves not only design, analysis and simulation, but also actual processing and subsequent inspection.   Advantages of large-scale CNC processing   High precision: Through precise programming and advanced control systems, micron-level or even higher processing accuracy can be achieved. CNC machine tools can also store multiple machining programs for quick switching and repeated machining.   Good consistency: Since CNC machining is automated, the process and results of each machining are consistent, and the same program can be kept until the next use, which can ensure the quality stability of the machined parts.   High degree of automation: In the functions of automated loading and unloading, tool replacement, and machining process monitoring, manual intervention is reduced, and the production safety and automation level are high.   Application areas of large-scale CNC machining   Aerospace field: It usually requires complex shapes and high precision requirements, which can be met by large-scale CNC machining, such as aircraft engine parts, wing parts, satellite parts, etc.   Automotive manufacturing industry: Automotive parts require high precision and high efficiency during machining. Key parts such as engine cylinder blocks, crankshafts, and gearbox housings can be manufactured through large-scale CNC machining.   Mold manufacturing industry: Molds are important tools for manufacturing various products. Large-scale CNC machining can be used to manufacture large and complex molds, which can improve the manufacturing precision and quality of molds.   Heavy machinery manufacturing industry: Heavy machinery parts are usually large and heavy. Large-scale CNC machining that can provide sufficient processing capacity and precision is suitable for manufacturing crane parts, excavator parts, etc.   Energy field: Energy equipment parts usually require special requirements such as high precision and high temperature resistance. Large-scale CNC machining can be used to manufacture nuclear power plant parts, wind turbine parts, etc.   Key technologies for large-scale CNC machining   CNC programming: CNC programming is the core technology of large-scale CNC machining. It requires mastering programming language and machining process knowledge, and being able to write accurate machining programs according to machining requirements.   Tool technology: In large-scale CNC machining, tools are the most important tools. Appropriate tool materials and tool parameters can ensure machining efficiency and quality. Machine tool accuracy: Machine tool accuracy is the basis of large-scale CNC machining. Regularly calibrate and maintain the machine tool to ensure the machining accuracy and stability of the machine tool.   Precautions for CNC machining of large parts   Preparation work before machining   Drawing review, clear understanding of the size, shape, precision requirements, etc. of the parts, technical requirements and process instructions in the drawings, such as surface roughness, heat treatment requirements, etc.   Tool design, the fixture should have sufficient rigidity and stability, and the position accuracy and clamping force of the parts during machining.   The most important thing for CNC machining of large parts is the tool, and the tool type, specifications and cutting edge parameters are guaranteed.   The machining procedure should take into account factors such as tool path, cutting parameters, feed speed, etc., and pay attention to avoid interference between the tool and the parts or fixtures.   Precautions during machining   Control of cutting parameters: Reasonable control of cutting parameters, such as cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth, etc.   Cooling and lubrication: The temperature will be relatively high during cutting, and cutting fluid or dry cutting should be used for cooling and lubrication.   Machining accuracy control: The size of large parts is relatively large, and the accuracy of the cutter should be accurately measured to avoid problems such as thermal deformation and stress deformation.   Common Problems in Large CNC Machining   The Difference Between Large CNC Machining and Traditional Machining   The difference between the two is that one is computer programming technology and the other is manual operation, and the difference is in the fields of precision, speed, and accuracy. CNC machining can provide higher accuracy and consistency.   The main difference between large CNC and small CNC machining   The difference between the two is size and size. • Large gear processing and overview
Historical background and technological development   The origin of gears can be traced back to ancient civilization. In ancient times, this technology was first used on waterwheels and windmills. They were all made of wood, with only a few gears, few gears, and very simple structures. For example, gears were widely used in hydraulic machinery systems in ancient Greece and Rome. In the Middle Ages, gear technology developed further, especially in mills, clocks, and metallurgical industries.   At the end of the 18th century, the Industrial Revolution came. Due to the need for large-scale production and the increasing demand for transmission, inventions led by steam engines appeared, which promoted the development of mechanical transmission. During this period, gears were mainly cast in steel, gradually from manual grinding to mechanical processing.   In the 20th century, with the emergence of internal combustion engines and electric motors and the popularization of large equipment, the development of large gears was used in heavy machinery, ship power and other fields. Large gears have undertaken more complex tasks. With the continuous mining of new durable materials, the production of gears is no longer limited to steel. Gradually replaced by high-strength materials such as alloy steel. The bearing capacity and wear resistance of gears have been greatly improved.   In modern times, the invention of computers and automated programming have greatly improved the design and processing accuracy of large gears. CNC has brought the production and quality of large gears to an unprecedented level!   Introduction to large gears In industry terms, large gears are measured on the surface of large gears. According to the size of large gears, especially the diameter of large gears, large gears with a diameter of more than one meter are called large gears. They are made of high-strength metal and produced by professional manufacturers. Large gears have the advantages of stable transmission, high load and long life.   What is the difference between large gears and small gears   Large gears usually have a larger diameter and number of teeth, and their teeth are relatively thick and can withstand larger torques. Small gears are relatively small, with fewer diameters and teeth, and smaller teeth.   The main function of large gears and small gears is to achieve transmission through meshing. The speed of the large gear is relatively low, but the torque is large. It can transmit power to the small gear, thereby driving the small gear to rotate at high speed. The small gear is the opposite, with a higher speed but smaller torque. It can accelerate the power transmitted by the large gear and transmit it to other components.   Common toothing methods include spur gearing, helical gearing, and herringbone gearing. Spur gears and pinions have simple structures and are easy to manufacture, but they are noisy during transmission and are suitable for low-speed and light-load applications. Helical gears and pinions have smooth transmission and low noise, and are suitable for high-speed and heavy-load applications. Herringbone gears and pinions can withstand greater axial forces and are used in high-power transmission systems.   What materials are used to manufacture large gears   Generally speaking, steel is one of the most commonly used materials in the manufacture of large gears. Among them, alloy steel is favored for its excellent comprehensive properties. For example, chromium-molybdenum alloy steel has high strength, good toughness and fatigue resistance, can withstand high loads and frequent start-stop operations, and is suitable for manufacturing high-speed and heavy-loaded large gears. After carburizing, carburized steel has high surface hardness and good wear resistance, while the core still maintains good toughness, which is suitable for manufacturing large gears that withstand impact loads. Carbon steels such as 45 steel are also commonly used in the manufacture of some large gears with relatively low performance requirements. They have low cost and good processing performance.   In some specific application scenarios, engineering plastics have also begun to be used in the manufacture of large gears. For example, polyoxymethylene (POM) has excellent mechanical properties, wear resistance and dimensional stability, low friction coefficient, good self-lubrication, and is suitable for the manufacture of some large gears with high precision requirements and relatively clean working environment. Engineering plastics such as nylon also have certain strength and wear resistance and can be used in some low-speed and light-load occasions.   Some new materials such as titanium alloys and high-temperature alloys are also gradually being used in the manufacture of large gears. Titanium alloys have the advantages of high strength, low density, and corrosion resistance, and are used in large gears working in high temperature and corrosive environments; high-temperature alloys can maintain good performance under high temperature conditions and are used to manufacture large gears in aerospace and other fields.   How are large gears made   It mainly includes steps such as forging, rough machining, heat treatment and finishing.   The material is forged and cast at a suitable temperature to make it roughly the shape of a gear, and then processed by large machine tools through milling, planing and other processing methods. Heat treatment improves the performance of the material, and then it is processed by high-precision machine tools and molds through grinding, honing and other methods. The tooth profile accuracy reaches a very high level and the surface roughness reaches a very small value.   Below is the test site of large gears What are the uses of large gears   Industrial production field   Large gears are widely used in various large mechanical equipment. For example, in mining equipment, large gears are responsible for transmitting huge power to drive crushers, hoists and other equipment to operate. The crusher relies on the high-speed rotation of the large gear to crush the hard ore into a suitable particle size, providing a basis for subsequent mineral processing and other processes. The hoist lifts heavy objects such as ore from underground to the ground through the transmission of the large gear to ensure continuous production. In steel mills, large gears are used to drive rolling mills, so that steel can be squeezed through rollers at high temperatures to achieve processing of different specifications and shapes. The stable operation of large gears directly affects the quality and production efficiency of steel.   Transportation field   In the automobile transmission system, large gears cooperate with small gears to achieve the speed change function through different gear ratios. The large gear has a large diameter and can withstand large torque. It provides stable power output under low speed and high torque conditions. For example, when the car starts or climbs, the large gear plays a key role.   Agricultural machinery field   For example, agricultural equipment such as combine harvesters and tractors are equipped with large gears. When the combine harvester harvests crops, the large gear drives the cutter, threshing device and other components to work, realizing efficient harvesting and threshing operations.   Construction field   Large gears also play an important role in cranes, excavators, etc. The large gear of the crane is responsible for lifting heavy objects. The lifting speed and strength of the heavy objects are controlled through precise transmission ratios to ensure the safety and efficiency of construction.   With the characteristics of being able to transmit large torque and withstand high loads, it provides power support for the operation of various mechanical equipment and is an indispensable and important component in modern industry and production activities.   If you need to process large gears, Jeek is honored to serve you. • Bevel Gear Overview
What is a bevel gear   A bevel gear is a mechanical part for transmitting rotational motion, and is characterized by the conical shape of its gear faces. This special shape allows bevel gears to be driven with different shaft angles, which can usually vary between 0° and 90°. Compared to spur gears, bevel gears are better adapted to the requirements of the space layout, which is a clear advantage in cases where a compact structure or different shaft directions are required. The operating principle of bevel gears is based on the meshing of gears. When a bevel gear rotates, its teeth mesh with the teeth of another meshing bevel gear. Through this tooth-to-tooth transmission, power is transferred from one shaft to the other. In the transmission process, a certain amount of friction will be generated between the teeth of the bevel gears, and this friction is the key to the realization of power transmission. At the same time, in order to ensure the smoothness and reliability of the transmission, the bevel gear tooth shape design needs to be very precise, usually using standard tooth shapes such as involute tooth shapes to reduce wear and noise.   Types of Bevel Gears   With the continuous progress of modern technology, there are many types of bevel gears such as the following   Straight-toothed Bevel Gear Straight bevel gears are the most basic type of bevel gears, whose teeth are arranged along the direction of the conical busbar in a straight line shape. Straight bevel gear transmission is smooth, less noise, can transmit a larger torque, suitable for low and medium-speed transmission occasions, such as automobile differentials, machine tool spindle box. In straight bevel gears, the tooth profile of the gear teeth for the involute, this tooth profile shape can ensure the smoothness and accuracy of transmission. The processing of straight bevel gears is relatively simple and the cost is low, so they are widely used in some mechanical transmissions that do not require high precision. Helical Bevel Gear The teeth of helical bevel gears are inclined at a certain angle to the conical bus, and the inclined design makes the helical bevel gears mesh better in the transmission process, and the contact line is changed from a point contact to a line contact, which improves the transmission's load bearing and smoothness, and the helical bevels have a higher transmission efficiency and a lower noise compared with the straight bevel gears on the top, and are suitable for high-speed and heavy-duty transmission occasions. But the processing cost is high and difficult.   Zero degree bevel gear   Zero degree bevel gear is a special bevel gear, the helix angle of its teeth for zero degrees, that is, the teeth are arranged along the direction of the conical bus, was a straight line shape. Zero degree bevel gear in the transmission process has and straight bevel gear similar characteristics, transmission is smooth, less noise, but its bearing capacity and transmission efficiency is higher than straight bevel gear. Zero degree bevel gears are suitable for some of the transmission smoothness and load capacity requirements of higher occasions, such as engineering machinery, heavy machinery and so on.   In addition to the above several common types of bevel gears, there are some special-purpose bevel gears, such as spiral bevel gears, hypoid bevel gears and so on. These bevel gears in a specific mechanical transmission system has a unique advantage, to meet the different needs of the work.   Manufacturing process of bevel gears   Usually, the raw material is first processed into a cone shape, and then the teeth are processed on the cone surface. The processing process requires strict control of tooth pitch, tooth shape error, tooth surface roughness and other parameters to ensure the quality and performance of the bevel gear. In order to improve the wear resistance and service life of the bevel gear, surface treatment, such as quenching, carburizing, etc. can also be carried out.   The production process of bevel gears mainly includes the following steps:   Materials Commonly used materials include alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron and copper alloy, and suitable materials are selected according to the usage requirements.   Rough machining The raw materials are forged or cut into blanks, which are initially processed into gear blanks through turning and milling.   Gear Shape Processing Use specialized gear processing equipment, such as hobbing machine, gear planer or gear grinding machine, to process the tooth shape of gears.   Heat treatment Hardening, tempering or carburizing the gears to enhance the hardness and wear resistance.   Finishing Including grinding, polishing and inspection to make the gear precision and surface quality meet the requirements.   Finally, the bevel gears are test fitted and performance tested to ensure that they can operate properly.     Differences between bevel gears and other gears   Structure: Bevel gears have conical gear faces and are suitable for transmissions with intersecting axes, while other gears are usually used for longitudinal axis transmissions.   Transmission: Bevel gears are suitable for changing the transmission direction, while spur gears and helical gears are more suitable for linear transmission occasions.   Manufacturing: Bevel gear due to the complex structure, finishing and installation of higher technical requirements. Application of Bevel Gear   Bevel gear rotors have functions that are widely evaluated in the following fields:   Automotive industry Used in differentials, it enables the left and right wheels to rotate at different speeds, adapting to the vehicle's movement needs when turning. When the vehicle turns, the inner wheels need to travel a shorter distance than the outer wheels. Bevel gears realize this function through clever ratio adjustments to ensure smooth steering of the vehicle.   Mechanical equipment Including machine tools, cranes, transmission equipment, etc., need to change the transmission direction of the occasion, can adapt to the harsh working environment of mechanical equipment.   Aerospace Used in aircraft for directional, high-strength transmission devices, can meet the aerospace field on the strict requirements of the parts, for the safe flight of the aircraft to provide a guarantee.   Shipbuilding Used in drive and rudder systems to help adjust transmission paths.   Bevel gear with its excellent performance and configuration of the type, become an important part of the base of the mechanical transmission, for the development of modern industry to provide a sophisticated technical support. With the continuous progress of science and technology, the design and manufacturing technology of bevel gears are also constantly innovating and improving, and will make greater contributions to the development of more fields.   jeek is a Chinese precision manufacturing company with very high achievements in the field of gears, if you have a need, you can provide the drawings of the gears that need to be manufactured, send them to us in the form of e-mail, and we will provide quotations in time.

  • What is a Spur Gears
What is a Spur Gears   Spur gears are an extremely important and common transmission element in the mechanical field, and they play a key role in the operation of various mechanical devices.   Spur gears, as the name suggests, have straight teeth. The teeth of the gear are distributed on the outer surface of the cylinder. From the appearance, it looks like a cylinder with teeth. Gears transmit motion between two parallel shafts. When a spur gear meshes with another spur gear, power is transmitted from one gear to the other through the mutual occlusion of the teeth. During transmission, the rotation of the master gear drives the teeth into contact with the teeth of the driven gear, which causes the driven gear to rotate with it. The transmission ratio of the spur gear is determined by the number of teeth of the two gears, and the ratio of the number of teeth determines the relationship between the rotational speed of the output shaft and the rotational speed of the input shaft. For example, if a large gear meshes with a pinion gear, and the large gear has a higher number of teeth, then the pinion gear will rotate faster at the same input speed, thus realizing the function of variable speed.   Spur gear production process   First of all, it is the selection of raw materials, Tongcai adopts high-quality steel as raw materials, such as 45 steel, 20CrMnTi and so on. These steels can meet the strength of spur gear work.   Then it is the production of the blank. By means of casting and forging, the blank material is polished, and the temperature is controlled during the forging process so that the quality of the material is improved.   The blank is normalized or annealed to soften the material for subsequent cutting.   Gear processing including milling, gear pulling, hobbing, gear insertion, gear planing, honing, grinding, etc., which some of the operations (partially explained)   Milling: the tooth blank set on the mandrel, installed in the indexing head and tailstock in the top, after milling a tooth to exit the indexing, in turn, one by one to complete the milling of the number of teeth (horizontal milling machine).   Pulling teeth: commonly used in hand processing of internal gears, suitable for mass production. Hobbing: also suitable for various mass production, processing medium quality external cylindrical gears and worm gears.   Gear insertion: also for machining internal and external cylindrical gears, multi-link gears and small racks.   Gear planing: Used in the processing of spur gear tooth surface.   Gear honing, grinding, etc. are more in processing gears. Finishing of teeth for high precision gears or hardened gears. The machining accuracy is generally IT6 - IT7.   Advantages of spur gears   The advantages of spur gears are actually quite obvious. The structure is relatively simple, because the manufacturing process is more mature nowadays, and the cost is lower, which gives a great advantage in mass production. The transmission of spur gears is smooth and relatively quiet. Coupled with the meshing of the teeth is continuous, so in the transmission process, the transmission of force is more uniform, will not produce significant impact and vibration, noise generation is also less. The transmission efficiency of spur gears is high, and it can effectively transfer power from one component to another, reducing the loss of energy.   Disadvantages of Spur Gears   Spur gears are not perfect. The gears are straight and may generate large radial forces during transmission, placing higher demands on the shafts and bearings and requiring a stronger support structure to withstand these forces. The transmission accuracy of spur gears is relatively low, and for some occasions where the transmission accuracy is required to be high, other types of gearing may need to be used, such as helical gears or worm gears. Uses and Applications of Spur Gears   Spur gears are one of the core components in mechanical applications. They are highly efficient in transmitting power in a way that can stably transfer power from one component to another, and are mainly used in machine tools, textile machinery, printing machinery and other equipment.   Spur gears are also commonly used in variable speed transmission. Through the combination of spur gears with different numbers of teeth, different transmission ratios can be achieved. In automobiles, motorcycles and other means of transportation, the transmission is the use of spur gears to achieve the principle of speed change to achieve the conversion of different vehicle speeds. In industrial production, some need to adjust the speed of the equipment will also use spur gears.   Some need larger torque also need spur gears. For example, in cranes, excavators and other heavy machinery and equipment, the spur gear transmission system can provide sufficient torque, so that mechanical equipment can easily complete the lifting of heavy objects, digging and other work.   Spur gear is a mechanical transmission, power transmission, variable speed transmission, increase torque and other aspects have a wide range of uses. It has a relatively simple structure, high reliability, good transmission efficiency, and can meet the needs of a variety of different mechanical systems. With the continuous progress of science and technology, the design and manufacturing technology of spur gears is also improving, and its application will be more and more extensive, bringing more convenience and benefits for human production and life.   The above article tells what is a spur gear, in our place in addition to spur gears, can be processed many kinds of gears, such as helical gears, bevel gears, turbine, including large gears. • Helical Gear Introduction and Definition
What is a helical gear?   Helical gears are one of the most common types of gears used in mechanical transmissions and are usually used to transmit rotary motion and torque. Gears with teeth at an oblique angle to the wheel axis, showing a helical shape, are very similar to spur gears, but helical gears are larger in contact area than right angle gears, so it has a higher load carrying capacity and less noise and vibration, which is highly advantageous within the transmission.   Helical gears, as an important type of gear transmission, are mainly divided into conical helical gears and cylindrical helical gears. Because the internal bending presents a spiral shape with a certain angle, this angle is also known as helix angle. Therefore, the pitch, pressure angle and helix angle of the two gears must be harmonized, and if you want to increase or decrease the speed and torque of the rotating shaft you can come to adjust the size.   Working principle of helical gears The working principle of helical gears is based on the meshing transmission of gears. In contrast to spur gears, helical gears have a helical tooth profile with helical angles that orient the teeth at an angle to the axis of the gear. When a pair of helical gears meshes with each other, their teeth gradually come into contact and transmit power.   For example, during transmission, the teeth of the master helical gear transmit power from one shaft to the other by meshing with the teeth of the driven helical gear. Since the teeth of the helical gear are helical, the contact of the tooth surfaces during meshing is gradual rather than instantaneous as in the case of spur gears. This gradual contact makes for a smoother transmission and reduces vibration and noise.   If during meshing, the teeth of helical gears are subjected to normal, circumferential and axial forces. Normal force is the force perpendicular to the tooth surface, which is the main force that transmits power; circumferential force is the force along the circumferential direction, which makes the gear rotate; axial force is the force along the axial direction, which is related to the helix angle. By analyzing the forces on the tooth surface, the load carrying capacity and life of the gear can be determined, and suitable bearings and shaft systems need to be selected to withstand these forces.   It is important to note here that the larger the helix angle, the longer the contact line of the teeth, the better the smoothness of the transmission, but at the same time it increases the axial force. The axial forces are due to the tilting of the teeth of the helical gears, which puts some load on the bearings and the shaft system. If you want to submit our drawings to design a helical gear, you need to consider the above factors according to the specific working conditions and requirements.   How to manufacture helical gear process   Design tool: According to the parameters of helical gear, such as module, number of teeth, helix angle, etc., design a special gear tool.   Material: Prepare a piece of alloy material with high strength and toughness. Cut it into the required size.   Determine the machining process route: hobbing, gear insertion, shaving, honing and other processing procedures.   Hobbing: Use the hob on the hobbing machine to cut the blank to form the tooth shape of the helical gear. The accuracy of hobbing mainly depends on the accuracy of the hob, the accuracy of the machine tool and the choice of processing parameters.   Shaving: A finishing method used to improve the accuracy and surface quality of gears. Similar to the helical gear, it and the processed gear for high-speed relative motion, through the shaving effect to remove the tooth surface of the tiny bumps and burrs, thereby improving the precision and surface finish of the gear.   Honing: A processing method to further improve the precision and surface quality of gears on the basis of shaving. Utilizing the honing agent's abrasive effect on the tooth surface for honing, so that the tooth surface is smoother and more accurate.   Finally, heat treatment is carried out to enhance the hardness and wear resistance of the material. Quality inspection is carried out after putting tooth shape precision, tooth pitch precision, tooth direction precision, surface quality and hardness.   Types of helical gears   Straight toothed helical gears: This is one of the most common types of helical gears. The tooth line of a spur helical gear is at an angle to the gear axis, usually between 15° and 25°. Its advantages are relatively simple manufacturing, low cost, better transmission smoothness, and the ability to withstand a certain amount of axial force. Commonly used in small machine tools, ventilators, etc. Herringbone teeth helical gears: Herringbone teeth helical gears are formed by the combination of two helical gears with equal helix angles and opposite directions, and their tooth shapes are similar to the Chinese character “人”. It is suitable for high-speed, heavy-duty transmission occasions. For example, in automobile transmissions, large cranes and other equipment, herringbone helical gears are often selected to ensure the reliability and stability of the transmission. Helical helical gears: The tooth line of helical helical gears is spiral, and the helix angle can be adjusted according to the needs. Compared with straight-toothed helical gears, helical helical gears provide a smoother and lower noise transmission for applications requiring higher transmission accuracy, such as precision machine tools and aerospace equipment. Helical Bevel Gear: Helical bevel gears are used for transmission between intersecting shafts, and their tooth lines are spiral and distributed on the conical surface. Helical bevel gears have the advantages of smooth transmission and strong load carrying capacity, and are commonly used in automobile differentials, helicopter transmission systems and other equipment. Application of Helical Gear, Advantages and Disadvantages   Application of Helical Gears   Automobile transmission system: Helical gears are widely used in transmissions and differentials. The combination of helical gears with different numbers of teeth in the transmission realizes different transmission ratios, while the helical gears in the differential can ensure that the left and right wheels rotate at different speeds when the vehicle is turning, so as to realize smooth steering.   Industrial machinery and equipment: such as machine tool transmission system, helical gears can transmit a larger torque, the stability of its transmission is often used in cranes, lifting and lowering heavy objects are a good hand.   Aerospace: Helical gears are required for the transmission of airplanes, which require high precision and high speed!   Advantages of helical gears   Smooth transmission, the tooth line is helical, can better carry the load, reduce shock and vibration. High-speed transmission occasions have better advantages.   Strong load carrying capacity, because the tooth contact line of helical gears is gradually entering and disengaging from meshing, so in the case of transmitting the same torque, the bending stress of the tooth root of helical gears is smaller than that of spur gears, and they can withstand greater loads.   Large degree of overlap: refers to the average value of the number of pairs of teeth involved in meshing of a pair of gears in the meshing process at the same time. Helical gears have a greater degree of overlap than spur gears, which reduces the impact and noise of the gears.   Variable speed transmission can be realized: by changing the number of teeth ratio of helical gears, different transmission ratios can be realized, which can meet different working requirements and is more flexible.   Disadvantages of helical gears   Complicated manufacturing process: the processing is difficult, and the helical process requires a high level of processing technology. Time-consuming, the cost will be higher.   Higher axial force; the load of bearing will increase and better material is needed.   High space requirement: for some occasions with limited space, it may be restricted.   Thank you for reading this article carefully. • How much do you know about the machining process of sprockets?
What is a sprocket wheel?   Sprocket is actually a kind of wheel with embedded fastening chain teeth, it is also a kind of mechanical gear. It is mainly used for transmission, made of metal, used to mesh with the chain or belt, two parts need to mesh with the synchronized movement, so as to achieve the effect of running. From the mechanical structure point of view, the sprocket usually consists of gear teeth, hub and spokes and other parts. The teeth are the key part of the sprocket wheel, which are arranged in the periphery of the hub in an arc shape to transmit power and movement through meshing with the chain. The hub is the center part of the sprocket wheel and is used to connect the drive shaft or other transmission parts, providing a base for support and rotation. The spokes connect the hub to the teeth, providing reinforcement and support so that the sprocket can withstand greater torque and load. Working Principle of Sprocket Wheel   Based on the meshing between the chain and the sprocket. When the sprocket wheel rotates, the teeth of the wheel and the links on the chain bite each other, and the power is transmitted to the chain through friction, which in turn drives the movement of other parts connected with it. Since the shape and pitch of the teeth of the sprocket are specially designed, different specifications of sprockets can be used with different types and pitches of chains to meet different transmission requirements.   Process Flow of Sprocket Wheels Blank Manufacturing   Manufacturing by forging or casting, drawing requirements, cutting the raw material into the required size, controlling the process parameters of forging or casting, so that it meets the quality requirements.   Machining preparation   Rough machining method, using turning, milling and other methods to process the outline of the sprocket blank.   Heat Treatment   Heat treatment is an important process in the processing of sprocket wheel, utilizing quenching and tempering to improve the hardness and abrasion resistance of sprocket wheel, so as to make it have good comprehensive mechanical properties.   Finishing   Tooth grinding processing: This kind is for the sprocket wheel which requires very high precision, and it is carried out by internal grinding machine or external grinding machine. Honing processing: on the basis of tooth grinding processing, honing processing is carried out to further improve the tooth precision and surface quality of the sprocket.   Finally, inspection and assembly are carried out in accordance with relevant standards and norms to ensure that the quality of the sprocket wheel meets the basic requirements. After meeting the requirements, the sprocket wheel is assembled, and the transmission system is composed of shaft, chain and other components to see whether it can operate normally. Key components of sprocket wheel   Sprocket teeth: the core part of the sprocket wheel, directly engaging with the chain to transmit power and motion. Sprocket teeth are usually made of high-strength alloy steel, which can withstand large loads and friction.   Sprocket shaft: the part that supports the sprocket and enables it to rotate, the quality and precision of which directly affect the stability and life of the sprocket.   Sprocket hub: the part connecting sprocket teeth and sprocket shaft, it plays the role of transmitting torque and fixing sprocket.   Sprocket groove: fixing the chain and preventing the chain from falling off. Common connection parts of the sprocket wheel include coupling, bolt connection, etc. Choose the suitable connection method according to different transmission systems and working requirements. Types and Applications of Sprockets   Toothed sprocket: one of the most common types of sprocket, its tooth shape is usually the standard involute tooth shape. This kind of sprocket has the advantages of smooth transmission, low noise, strong bearing capacity, etc. It is suitable for high-speed transmission and high-power transmission.   Toothed sprocket is widely used in engine and other parts, the high precision and reliability of the toothed sprocket can ensure the stability of the engine's power output and improve fuel efficiency.   Roller sprocket: This kind of sprocket is characterized by the installation of rollers on the tooth surface of the sprocket, which can reduce the friction between the sprocket and the chain, improve the transmission efficiency and reduce the noise. It is often involved in high speed and heavy load transmission occasions.   This product is widely used in the transmission system of belt conveyor, chain conveyor and other equipment.   Toothed Plate Sprocket: Toothed plate sprocket is a sprocket which is used in conjunction with toothed chain, and its tooth shape matches with the link of toothed chain. The advantages are smooth transmission, low noise and compact chain links. It is often used in bicycle transmission system, and toothed chain plate sprocket is also widely used in some small mechanical equipments, such as printers, copiers and so on. It can meet the basic requirements.   Shaped sprocket: In addition to the three types of sprockets mentioned above, there is also this kind, such as fan-shaped sprocket, taper sprocket, etc. Shaped sprocket is usually used in mechanical equipment that requires special transmission ratio or transmission efficiency. This kind of generally need special customization, usually used in cranes.   The above is the introduction of the sprocket, if you need to customize, you can click us to get a quote.

  • Everything You Need to Know About Gear Processing
Gear is a very important part of the mechanical transmission, in mechanical equipment has the role of the top and bottom, equivalent to an intermediate rotating belt, whether in the automotive, aerospace, or industrial fields, gears have no small importance, and the gear processing quality and precision must have a certain guarantee, otherwise it will affect the performance of the entire mechanical transmission.   Gear processing through a variety of machining processes, the raw material (usually steel and other metal materials) can be processed into gears with a specific shape and precision. Common gear processing methods include hobbing, gear insertion, milling, grinding and so on.   The main methods of manufacturing gears are casting, forging, machining, powder metallurgy and many other methods.   This article will give you all the information about gear machining, let's explore its methods, material rotation and equipment processing, this article can also be pointed out if there is any deficiency. What is Gear Processing   Gear machining involves the modification of a material in terms of shape and properties so that it can undertake the task of transmitting power and motion. Simply put, gear machining is the process of turning raw material into a part with teeth so that it can work in conjunction with other gears or parts to achieve a change in speed, direction, or force.   It is not just about making a part with teeth, it is a process that combines the principles of mechanics, material properties and machining techniques. Different gears are used for different purposes, for example, tiny gears in clocks require great precision and wear resistance, while gears in heavy machinery require great strength and impact resistance.   When machining gears, the type of gear (e.g. straight, helical or spiral) needs to be taken into account, with different manufacturing methods and technical requirements for each type of tooth shape. The level of machining accuracy will directly affect the smoothness and service life of the gear during operation, so gear machining usually requires very strict process control and precision equipment support.   From a scientific point of view, gear processing is not only a branch of mechanical manufacturing, but also carries many complex geometric principles and engineering technology. In industrial development, the progress of gear processing technology has promoted the accuracy of many high-end equipment, but also directly affects the efficiency and reliability of power transmission. It can be said that gear processing is one of the basic processes of modern machinery manufacturing. Gear machining process   Blank manufacturing: design the shape of the gear, choose the right raw materials, through forging, casting and other ways to create a gear blank.   Gear blank processing: to make the gear to achieve the basic shape and size requirements, which process includes turning, milling, drilling and other machining procedures.   Tooth shape processing: this step is very critical, the tooth shape of the gear is processed on the tooth blank. It can be selected according to the modulus of the gear, the number of teeth, precision requirements and other factors.   Tooth flank machining: If high precision gears are required, tooth flank machining is needed, which can improve the surface quality and precision of gears, common tooth flank machining methods include grinding, honing, etc.   Heat treatment: after the gear processing is completed, it is necessary to change the performance of the gear through quenching and tempering to improve the service life of the gear.   Accuracy testing: after the completion of gear processing, the need for gear precision testing, including tooth pitch deviation, tooth shape deviation, tooth deviation and so on. Through precision testing, problems in gear processing can be found in time and adjusted and corrected.   Gear forming can be realized through a variety of processes, including machining (such as hobbing, gear insertion), casting, forging, powder metallurgy, and additive manufacturing (3D printing).   In between, a few words can be said about powder metallurgy and additive manufacturing.   Powder metallurgy   Powder metallurgy is also a gear manufacturing technology in which metal powder is pressed into shape and densified by sintering (heating but not melting). Commonly used in the manufacture of complex shapes, small sizes, high-precision parts, including gears, it is unique in gear manufacturing, especially in the miniaturization, complexity and environmental protection requirements of the increasing demands of modern industry, has a broad application prospects.   Additive Manufacturing   Additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is a technique for manufacturing parts by adding material layer by layer. In contrast to traditional “subtractive manufacturing” (e.g., machining), no material is cut or removed, and solids are created by stacking layers on top of each other according to a digital model. This is an efficient and flexible process for gears with mixed shapes, low volume customization and rapid prototyping. It promises to break through the process limitations of conventional machining and may bring another high point for gear making.   Tools and equipment for gear machining   Tools: Hobbing cutters, shaper cutters, milling cutters, the shape and parameters of the tools are selected according to different gear machining methods and accuracy requirements.   Equipment: hobbing machine, gear inserting machine, milling machine, grinding machine, etc., the performance and precision of the equipment directly affects the quality and efficiency of gear processing.   Precision control of gear processing   In the process of gear machining, it is necessary to control the precision of gears by various means, such as the precision of cutting tools, the precision of equipment, and the control of machining process. At the same time, it is also necessary to test and adjust the precision of gears, and timely find and correct the errors in processing.   What are the gear types   Spur gears: the simplest type of gear, with teeth parallel to the shaft. Spur gears are widely used and very simple to manufacture, but they are noisy at high speeds.   Helical gears: These gears can carry large loads, are quieter and run well at high speeds, but they can wear more than spur gears and require special bearing supports, which makes them expensive to machine. And it can only be used in specific tasks. Bevel Gear:Smooth transmission, strong bearing capacity, low noise and other characteristics, suitable for high speed and heavy load occasions. The special shape of bevel gears, the teeth are distributed on the conical surface, which makes it widely used in automobile rear axle differentials, helicopter main gearboxes, machine tool transmission systems and other fields.  Worm gear: usually consists of worm gear teeth and worm gear shaft. The shape of the worm gear teeth is curved or involute, and its tooth surface meshes with the tooth surface of the worm gear. This special mesh makes the worm wheel can realize the transmission of large transmission ratio, in some need for low speed, large torque output occasions, such as cranes, lifts, etc., the worm wheel shows an irreplaceable advantage. Material selection for gear processing   Normal steel, iron, alloy, copper can be used to make raw materials for gears, of course, also includes some non-metallic materials to be used to make raw materials for gears, in the selection of suitable gear processing materials should be considered before a number of factors, gear load, speed, environment, production costs, etc., the need for high-speed rotation will usually choose alloys and other high-strength materials for low-speed, light-loaded may be used copper, iron, plastic and other For low speed, light load may use copper, iron, plastic and other materials to choose.   In today's 21st century, gears have a very important development in various fields, not rely on the previous manpower, modern society is a combination of industrialization. At jeek, we can provide you with a wide range of gear machining services, we have a specialized machining workshop, more than fifty people in the technical team, can provide a variety of shapes of gear parts. • What is Polishing?
What is Polishing? Essentially, polishing is a process that uses mechanical, chemical, or electrochemical methods to smooth, brighten, and achieve a certain level of flatness on the surface of an object. The purpose is to remove surface flaws and rough layers, improve surface quality, and enhance the aesthetic appeal and performance of the object. From a visual perspective, polishing means grinding the surface of a part to make it more attractive, eliminating waste material and defects generated during the manufacturing process. How is Polishing Done? At the beginning of polishing, the necessary tools and materials need to be prepared, such as polishing machines and sandpaper. The polishing machine is turned on to rotate at high speeds, creating friction with the part to grind it. Sandpaper is used manually to grind the surface, starting from coarse paper and progressing to finer grades. Steps in Polishing Process: Rough Processing: The first step is to perform rough processing on the part, aimed at removing the rough and uneven areas on the surface. This stage generally uses sandpaper or grinding wheels to reduce raised areas on the surface. Fine Processing: After rough processing, finer polishing is carried out using more delicate tools, such as polishing cloths and polishing pastes. During this step, abrasives react with impurities on the surface, removing them and eliminating traces left by rough processing. Brightening: The surface's brightness and whiteness are enhanced during this stage, where specialized bleaching agents are used to make the surface cleaner and whiter. Coating: Finally, a protective coating is applied to the part to prevent external damage from dust, stains, ultraviolet light, etc., increasing both gloss and durability.       Different Methods of Polishing Mechanical Polishing One of the most common polishing methods, it uses mechanical force and abrasive particles' friction to remove surface imperfections. Typically, a rotating polishing wheel or polishing cloth is used, paired with abrasives like alumina or silicon carbide. During polishing, abrasive particles roll and cut on the material surface, gradually making it smooth. Materials suitable for mechanical polishing include steel, copper, aluminum, and some non-metallic materials like glass and ceramics. However, the downside of mechanical polishing is that it may leave fine scratches on the material's surface, and complex-shaped parts are hard to polish thoroughly. Chemical Polishing This method involves the corrosion and dissolution of the material surface using chemicals. Common chemical polishing liquids include nitric acid, phosphoric acid, and sulfuric acid. Its advantage is that it can achieve a very smooth surface without leaving scratches like mechanical polishing. It is suitable for materials with very high surface quality requirements, such as stainless steel and aluminum alloys. However, it requires strict control of the solution's concentration, temperature, and time; otherwise, excessive corrosion may result in an uneven surface. Electrolytic Polishing A method based on electrochemical principles, where the material to be polished is placed as an anode in an electrolytic bath containing specific electrolyte solutions. Direct current is passed through, causing the surface to undergo anodic dissolution, removing protrusions and defects to achieve polishing. The advantage is that it achieves a very high level of smoothness and whiteness, and the polishing speed is fast. It is suitable for metal materials like high-alloy steel and titanium alloys. The downside is the need for specialized equipment and techniques, and safety precautions must be taken to avoid accidents such as electric shocks or electrolyte splashing. Ultrasonic Polishing This method uses high-frequency ultrasonic vibrations to drive abrasive particles to polish the material surface. An ultrasonic generator produces high-frequency vibrations, which are transmitted to the polishing tool, such as a polishing wheel or head, causing abrasive particles to vibrate and create friction on the material surface, removing surface flaws. Parts with complex shapes or those difficult to polish with mechanical methods can be treated with ultrasonic polishing. It can achieve very high surface smoothness without damaging the material's surface. However, it also requires specialized equipment and techniques, and careful selection and handling of abrasives are necessary. Fluid Polishing Fluid polishing uses high-speed flowing liquids or gases to scour and grind the material surface to achieve a polishing effect. Typically, high-pressure water jets or high-pressure gas jets are used to mix abrasives with the fluid to create high-speed streams that impact and polish the material surface. The advantages of fluid polishing are many. It can remove various surface defects, including scratches and oxides, and is effective for polishing complex parts. It is commonly used in high-tech fields such as aerospace components, where surface quality is highly critical. Above, we discussed four methods of part polishing. In practice, mechanical polishing is the most commonly used, as it is the simplest and is suitable for various precision parts.       Difference Between Grinding and Polishing Grinding involves using abrasives (like sandpaper or grinding wheels) to abrade the surface of an object, removing defects, burrs, and rough layers, making the surface relatively flat. The principle is using the sharp edges of the abrasives to perform physical cutting on the material's surface, changing its morphology. Polishing, on the other hand, is a further step beyond grinding, where finer abrasives or polishing agents are used to achieve a higher level of smoothness and gloss through friction and chemical action. Polishing agents typically contain abrasives and lubricants, which reduce friction, prevent overheating, and avoid scratches, making the surface appear shiny. From a cost perspective, grinding is cheaper, with simpler tools and materials, but it is less efficient, requiring multiple grinding stages. Polishing, however, is machine-based and is exactly the opposite! Every part in the manufacturing process requires polishing, not only for aesthetics but also because it is necessary for the final product's quality. • Advantages of Small Batch CNC Processing
What is Small Batch CNC Processing?   It is used for the production of a small number of components or products. Based on CNC processing, advanced CNC equipment and programming technology are employed to precisely manufacture components or products with various complex shapes according to the customer's required quantity. However, the number of products produced in each run is relatively small, but small batch CNC processing offers extremely high precision and consistency. The error can usually be controlled within a very small range. This is crucial for parts in the aerospace field, precision components in medical devices, and other critical applications.   Advantages of Small Batch CNC Processing   High Precision Automated Processing Precise programming and advanced control systems enable CNC machines to automatically complete complex processing tasks without human intervention, ensuring that every part meets the design standards, thus improving the reliability and performance of the product.   High Flexibility In traditional processing modes, small batch production requires a lot of tooling design and manufacturing, which extends the production cycle. However, small batch CNC processing can quickly adjust processing techniques and tool paths through programming. By simply modifying the CNC program, various different parts can be processed on the same machine tool, greatly improving the flexibility and adaptability of production. This allows factories or businesses to respond more quickly to changes in market demand, launch new products in a timely manner, and gain a market edge.   Automated Production CNC machines can operate continuously for 24 hours. Due to their high precision and consistency, they also reduce scrap rates and rework caused by human factors, further improving production efficiency. They can quickly complete production tasks, reducing production costs. Technology used in low-volume CNC machining Turning Turning is the process of clamping the workpiece on a lathe and removing excess material through the rotation and linear motion of the tool to create various rotary parts. In small batch production, turning is commonly used for machining shaft-type, disc-type, and other components. For example, the complex shape of a crankshaft in an automobile engine requires high-precision turning to achieve.   Milling Milling involves using a milling cutter to cut various shapes such as planes, grooves, and contours on the surface of the workpiece. Unlike turning, milling is more suitable for machining parts that require high flatness and verticality. For example, the cavities of molds are usually processed by milling to ensure a smoother surface and higher precision.   Drilling Drilling is used to process various types of holes in workpieces, such as through holes, blind holes, and threaded holes. It is commonly used in the machining of assembly holes, connection holes, and other parts in mechanical components. Drilling tools are simple and practical, and the operation is relatively easy. Through CNC drilling equipment, the position, diameter, and depth of the holes can be precisely controlled, ensuring the quality and precision of the holes.   Grinding Grinding is a method of high-precision machining on the surface of the workpiece by utilizing the grinding action of a grinding wheel. It achieves extremely high precision and surface quality and is commonly used for machining parts that require particularly high precision, such as precision bearings and measuring tools. Grinding is typically used as a finishing process after turning, milling, etc., to further improve the dimensional accuracy and surface smoothness of parts. Although the grinding process is relatively slow, it is an indispensable technology for parts that require extremely high surface quality.   Why CNC Processing is So Important In mass production, manual labor typically takes longer. The precision of parts in production orders can also vary due to human involvement. CNC processing is important because:   CNC processing is faster than manual labor. CNC machines require minimal maintenance. It can mass-produce parts at a cost-effective rate. It only requires programming to work, ensuring accurate data.   Conclusion CNC processing is an advanced processing technology that plays an important role in small batch production. With market demand, small batch CNC processing will be more widely applied in the manufacturing industry, enhancing market competitiveness.   If you need small batch processing, please consult for a quote!

  • 304 vs 316 Stainless Steel - What's the Difference?
304 vs 316 Stainless Steel - What's the Difference?   In the world of stainless steel, 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel are two common and widely used materials. Both are very popular and play an important role in many fields. Although they both belong to the stainless steel family, there are obvious differences in chemical composition, performance characteristics and scope of application.   In terms of chemical composition, 304 stainless steel is composed of 18% chromium (Cr) and 8% nickel (Ni). In addition to the two basic components, it also contains a small amount of carbon, manganese, silicon and other elements. This combination makes it have good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, and can maintain basic stability.   316 stainless steel adds about 2% molybdenum to 304 stainless steel. Chromium is about 2% less than 304 stainless steel. The increase of molybdenum improves the corrosion resistance of stainless steel, making the corrosion resistance of 316 stainless steel higher than that of 304 stainless steel!   The properties of the two alloys are roughly the same.   Introduction to 304 stainless steel As one of the most widely used steels, it has good corrosion resistance and heat resistance. It is resistant to high temperatures of 800℃ and has the characteristics of good processing performance and high toughness. It is widely used in the industrial and furniture decoration industries as well as the food and medical industries.   Introduction to 316 stainless steel Performance characteristics of 304 and 316   Corrosion resistance: As mentioned above, 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance due to its high content of molybdenum. It can better resist the corrosion of chloride ions. For equipment in coastal areas, marine engineering structures, etc., 316 stainless steel has a longer service life. While 304 stainless steel can meet the corrosion resistance requirements in general indoor and outdoor environments, its corrosion resistance is relatively weak in harsh corrosive environments.   Temperature: The performance of 316 stainless steel is more stable in high temperature environments. The strength and corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel will decrease at high temperatures, and it is generally suitable for occasions where the temperature does not exceed 800℃.   Toughness and weldability: 304 stainless steel has good toughness, is easy to process and form, and has relatively good welding performance. Products of various complex shapes can be made through various processing techniques, and the joint strength after welding is high. 316 stainless steel also has good toughness, but due to its relatively complex alloy composition, some process details need to be paid attention to during welding.   Why is 304 stainless steel used more than 316 stainless steel?   This was also mentioned in the previous article. The molybdenum element in 316 stainless steel is about 2% more than that in 304 stainless steel, which greatly improves the corrosion resistance and acid and alkali resistance of 316 stainless steel, but it is this 2% difference. Make the cost of the two alloys different.   The cost price of 304 stainless steel is usually between 15,000 and 20,000 per ton, while 316 stainless steel is more than 2w per ton. And 304 has met most of the daily needs. Therefore, it is more popular.   304 stainless steel is widely used in tableware, kitchen and other equipment, but 316 stainless steel has stronger corrosion resistance, and is more used in medical equipment and industrial equipment in highly corrosive environments.   304 stainless steel is enough to meet the demand, so its market demand is greater. Although 316 stainless steel has better performance, it is mainly used in specific fields with higher material performance requirements due to its high cost.   Having said so much, the difference between the two is corrosion resistance. If what you are manufacturing is not so important and it is OK to use it, you can use 304 stainless steel. 316 stainless steel usually lasts a little longer than 304 stainless steel.   If you want to know more about the characteristics of the two alloys, you can click on our consultation and tell us the processed products you need or the parts you need to manufacture. We will provide you with one-on-one guidance and products.

  • What is vacuum Brazing?
What is vacuum Brazing?   Vacuum brazing refers to a welding process performed in a vacuum environment. In a vacuum, oxygen and other substances are excluded. After the solder is heated to a molten state, the materials to be welded are placed in a vacuum chamber for high-temperature welding technology. Brazing is a process in which solders such as tin-lead alloys are heated to a certain temperature, melted and wetted the metal surface to be welded, and then cooled and solidified to form a firm connection. A vacuum environment helps to improve the wettability and fluidity of the solder, making the welding more reliable and dense.   Process flow of vacuum brazing   Preparation work Clean the welded parts, use appropriate cleaning agents to remove impurities such as oil and oxides on the surface of the parts, ensure that the surface is clean and smooth, and is conducive to the adhesion of the solder. Assemble the parts to be welded according to the design requirements, and fix the position and gap. Then start the vacuum system and pump the welding area to the required vacuum degree, generally below 10⁻³ Pa.   Heating and brazing The welding area is heated by a heating device, usually using an infrared heater, an induction heater, etc. The heating speed should be moderate to avoid welding quality problems caused by too fast or too slow heating. When the welding area reaches the temperature required for brazing (generally between 183℃-220℃, the melting point of tin-lead alloy), apply solder to the welding part. The solder will quickly melt and wet the metal surface to form a uniform welding layer. According to the size and complexity of the welding part, control the welding time, generally between a few seconds and a few minutes. Too long time will lead to overheating and solder loss, and too short time may cause the welding to be weak. Check after cooling After the welding is completed, stop heating and let the welding area cool naturally. In a vacuum environment, the cooling speed is faster, which helps to maintain the quality of welding. Check the welding part, including appearance inspection, welding strength test, etc. The appearance should be smooth, without defects such as pores and cracks; the welding strength should meet the design requirements and be verified by tests such as stretching and bending.   Matters needing attention during brazing operation Vacuum control: Keep the vacuum degree of the welding area stable to avoid the influence of vacuum fluctuations on welding quality. During welding, the vacuum degree should be checked regularly to detect and solve problems in time. Heating uniformity: The heating device can evenly heat the welding area to avoid local overheating or overcooling. Heating uniformity can be achieved by adjusting parameters such as heating power and heating time. Solder selection: Select the appropriate solder according to the properties and requirements of the material to be welded. Different solders have different melting points, wettability and mechanical properties, and should be selected according to the specific situation. Operation skills: Our operators should have certain welding skills and experience, and master the correct operation methods and techniques. For example, when applying solder, it should be even and appropriate to avoid solder accumulation or insufficient; during the welding process, keep a stable hand posture to avoid shaking and shaking.   Application areas of vacuum brazing Aviation industry: used to manufacture honeycomb sandwich structure wall panels, jet engines and rocket missile device assemblies. ‌Electronic industry‌: brazing copper and stainless steel parts. ‌Automobile industry‌: generally manufacture precision parts and metal parts of complex shapes.   Vacuum brazing is a high-precision, high-quality welding technology. Jeek can provide you with vacuum brazing and welding processing services. We have professional knowledge and experience.
